Wow. I found a great new site for checking out new artists and downloading their MP3’s - FOR FREE !!! It’s called Jamendo.com. If you like what you hear you can pay the artist what you want. Kind of like Radiohead’s new album. I hope this becomes a trend.

For example, I was very impressed with this group called Julia Car and their new album Urbano which was just released on October 26th.

Warning - The lyrics are in Portuguese but the music is amazing.

Ok, so I’m a day late and a dollar short (as usual) but Radiohead has just released their 7th studio album online, available now, for free. A boxed disc and special editions are expected later this year. Here is the tracklisting from WikiPedia.

You have to jump through a lot of DRM hoops to get these Windows Media only music files, but if you like free music (and you are used to DRM issues like buying an playing music with iTunes only media files) this might be a good way to add to your collection.

AdPerk.com is a great new Web 2.0 site that currently offers Free Subscriptions to Popular Science Magazine and a 50% discount on dwell Magazine in exchange for watching short (30 to 120 second) advertisements on their site. Some of the advertisements were actually funny () and others were quite interesting () so the return on time investment here is great. Highly Recommended, especially as AdPerks adds additional Magazine Subscriptions (and other premiums?) to their offering.
