Cheyenne Marie Mize – It Lingers (Live)
Mize, a Kentucky-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, released her debut album Before Lately in 2010 and followed it up with last month’s We Don’t Need EP, which includes “It Lingers.” This sparse, live version of the song showcases Mize’s sweet vocals complimented by just bass and drums. Christmas as a tradition taken from many faiths
Solstice holidays are prominently celebrated the world over and are indisputably pre-Christian, many are even secular in nature. That is why it isn’t required that I believe in the fertility god Yule to celebrate Yuletide merrymaking; be Wiccan to deck the halls with holly or a Druid to kiss under mistletoe; believe in Thor, Odin, or St. Nicholas to enjoy night time gift giving, Saturn to decorate a tree with lights, or Mithras to celebrate the sun’s rebirth on Dec. 25th. Likewise, one doesn’t have to believe in Jesus Christ to celebrate the renaming of all of these holidays as Christ’s Mass.
